War Global Simulator

Choose who attacks and who defends among all the countries in the world. The simulator compares military spending, armed forces, nuclear weapons, alliances and wars already under way, and runs the clash 3,000 times.

This is not a prediction

It is a simulator based on a very simplified model, meant for information and reflection. The results do not say what will really happen, they are not military or political analysis and must not be used to make decisions. For many countries the data are rough estimates. Real wars depend on things no number can measure: government choices, morale, unexpected allies, diplomacy.

A collection of conflicts that are already under way, considered likely by experts, or often in the news. Tap “Simulate” to load one. Being on this list does not mean a war will break out.

Data used for each country

source 2025-2026 data from the public sources listed below. estimate approximate values reconstructed by the simulator, they may be wrong. yours data you entered. GFP index: lower = stronger.

How the calculation works
  1. Base strength: strength index (Global Firepower 2026 where available, otherwise calculated), military spending and active troops.
  2. Available forces: the share already committed to other wars or internal conflicts is removed.
  3. Distance: neighbours fight with all their forces, distant countries can bring only part of them. Attacking an island costs more.
  4. Defender's advantage: whoever fights at home counts 1.8 times their strength.
  5. Alliances: NATO (Article 5), the European Union's mutual defence clause, the CSTO, the Gulf Cooperation Council and bilateral treaties. Each ally steps in with a probability, not with certainty.
  6. The 3-to-1 rule: conquest needs clear superiority; with similar forces the war becomes one of attrition.
  7. Nuclear weapons: against a country that has them, total conquest is ruled out and the risk of escalation rises.
  8. 3,000 simulations with a random margin of uncertainty: the percentages show how often each outcome comes up in the simulator. The same scenario with the same data always gives the same result.

The model ignores morale, training, logistics, terrain, cyber warfare, public opinion and leaders' decisions. That is why it is not, and cannot be, a prediction.

War Global Simulator

War Global Simulator is a free simulator that compares the armed forces of every country in the world. Choose who attacks and who defends on the map: the simulator takes into account military spending, armies, nuclear weapons, alliances such as NATO and wars already under way, and runs the clash 3,000 times to show you the most frequent outcomes.

You will also find a collection of scenarios taken from current events, and you can share the result as an image. The data come from public sources and are updated every week.

It is a simplified model, meant for information and reflection: it is not a prediction.

Who publishes the simulator

War Global Simulator is published by Edoardo Gorlini, who can be contacted at motopizza94@gmail.com. It is a personal, free project with no advertising and not for profit.

What it is

It is a simulator for information, education and reflection. It applies a very simplified mathematical model to public data and estimates. The results are not predictions, they are not military, political or strategic analysis, and they express no opinion on who is right in a real conflict.

No guarantee on the data

The data come from the public sources cited or are estimates by the simulator, and may be incomplete, out of date or wrong. They must not be used for decisions of any kind: economic, investment, travel, security or otherwise.

Proper use

You may use and share the results for discussion and personal curiosity, always stating that they come from a simulation. You may not present them as predictions, news or official analysis, nor use them to spread disinformation or to incite hatred or violence.

Liability

To the extent permitted by law, the publisher of the simulator is not liable for any damage arising from the use or interpretation of the results. The rights that the law grants to consumers are not affected.

Intellectual property and sources

The texts and code of the simulator belong to its publisher. Third-party figures remain the property of those who published them and are credited in the Sources section; SIPRI data are used for non-commercial purposes as their terms allow. The country borders come from the jsVectorMap library (MIT licence). Citing a source does not imply its endorsement or collaboration.

External links

Links to third-party sites, including the share buttons, lead to services with their own rules, for which the simulator is not responsible.

Governing law

Italian law applies. Consumers may bring proceedings before the courts of their place of residence.

Data the simulator does not collect

It does not ask you to register, has no contact forms, uses no analytics, advertising or profiling tools, and does not send the simulations you run to anyone.

Data saved only on your device

If you edit a country's data, your changes are saved in your browser's storage (localStorage) so you find them on your next visit. They stay on your device and are not transmitted. Your choices to hide the welcome window or the language suggestion are remembered in the same way. You can delete everything with “Restore original data” or by clearing the site's data in your browser settings.

Technical browsing data

To display the page, some technical providers necessarily receive data such as your IP address, browser type and the time of the request:

These providers process the data under their own privacy policies and may be located outside the European Union. The legal basis is the legitimate interest in running the site (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). The simulator itself neither receives nor stores these data. The fonts are those already on your device: no external font service is contacted.

Sharing results

The result image is created by your browser and saved on your device only if you confirm. If you use the share buttons (for the simulator or for results) or the WhatsApp, Telegram and X links, the text is passed to that service only when you choose to, and from then on its privacy policy applies.

Your rights

You can request access, rectification, erasure, restriction and objection (Articles 15-22 GDPR) by writing to the controller. You can also lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority (Garante per la protezione dei dati personali): garanteprivacy.it.

Cookie policy

The simulator does not set any cookies of its own and uses no profiling, analytics or advertising cookies, either its own or third-party.

It only uses a technical tool, the browser's local storage, to remember the data you edit and your choices to hide the welcome window or the language suggestion. This is strictly necessary for a feature you explicitly request, so no consent is needed (Art. 122 of the Italian Privacy Code and the Italian DPA guidelines of 10 June 2021). That is why there is no cookie banner.

The hosting service (Netlify) does not set cookies on this site.

To delete the saved data: use “Restore original data” for each country you edited, or clear the site's data in your browser settings.
